Terms of Use

1. Accepting these terms

Jack of All Trades ("JAT", "the platform") is a community job marketplace operated by the JAT team. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. Anyone may browse public job listings; posting or applying requires an account. Jack of All Trades may offer or require additional account verification features from time to time. Keep your account details accurate and your sign-in secure.

3. What the platform does

JAT connects people who need work done with people who can do it. The platform lists jobs, lets workers say they're available, and lets posters choose. JAT does not set prices, bid on work, employ anyone, or guarantee that any job or worker is suitable, safe, or will turn up. Posters and workers deal with each other directly.

4. Posting jobs

• Describe the work honestly — what's involved, when, where (suburb), and what you'll pay.
• Pay must be lawful and fair. The platform may warn on unusually low rates.
• Only post work that is legal, safe and genuinely needs doing.
• Your exact address is shared only with workers you select.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of your listing and for meeting any legal obligations that apply to the work.

5. Applying for jobs

• Only mark yourself available if you can genuinely be there at the listed time.
• Tell the truth about your experience, transport and tools.
• If a job legally requires a licence, qualification or ticket, only apply if you hold it.
• Confirm promptly if selected — reservations expire and the spot reopens.

6. Payments

JAT is currently free to use. Payment happens directly between the poster and worker — JAT does not hold funds, provide escrow, or take a cut. The platform's payment confirmation feature records that payment was made; it does not process the payment itself. Agree the amount before work starts and honour it.

7. Cancellations and no-shows

Plans change — cancel as early as you can through the platform. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations are recorded and may affect your account. If a worker doesn't arrive, the poster can report a no-show and the worker gets a chance to respond.

8. Reviews

Reviews must be honest and based on real jobs. Reviews stay hidden from the other party until both sides submit or the review window closes. Don't use reviews to threaten, harass or extort.

9. Conduct

You must not:

• Post illegal, unsafe, misleading or adult-content work
• Harass, threaten, discriminate against or endanger other members
• Use member information for anything outside the job at hand
• Create fake accounts, fake jobs or fake reviews
• Scrape the platform or probe its security
• Use messaging for spam, abuse or off-platform solicitation

10. Reporting, blocking and moderation

Use the Report option on jobs, profiles or messages for anything unsafe or against these terms — reports go to JAT's moderation team and stay private. You can block members from Settings. Moderators may remove content, warn, suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Suspended members can browse but can't take part.

11. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give JAT permission to display and store it as needed to run the platform. Don't post content you don't have the right to share.

12. Privacy

Your use of JAT is also covered by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why.

13. Third-party services

Sign-in uses Google (subject to Google's terms). The platform runs on third-party infrastructure. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies.

14. Availability and changes

We aim to keep JAT available and improving, but the service is provided as-is and may change, pause or stop. Scheduled tasks (like reservation expiry) run automatically.

15. Disclaimers and liability

JAT connects members; it is not a party to the arrangements between them. To the extent the law allows, JAT is not liable for work performed, payments between members, injuries, losses or disputes arising from jobs arranged through the platform. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

16. Disputes and governing law

Disputes about a job are between the members involved — raise them through the platform where possible so there's a record. Issues with the platform itself can be raised via Help & Support. These terms are governed by Australian law.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the current version always lives here with its date. Continuing to use JAT after changes means you accept the updated terms.
